Onitsuka Tiger was originally founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka who built a world-renowned sportswear company based on the philosophy that continually pushed the boundaries of design and innovation. It was the Olympic games of the 1960s that affirmed Onitsuka Tiger's worldwide fame and respect, with the shoes used at the 1968 games being the first to incorporate the now famous Tiger Stripes. The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico Runner was originally intended as a training shoe, to support the ankle of competing athletes and now this mid cut trainer is back, making a fashion statement! Features a black leather upper for durability, with the trademark Asics Onitsuka Tiger side stripes in dark brown, the Onitsuka Tiger logo in dark brown on the outer side and 'TOKYO' lettering on the heel. Also featured is a lightly padded tongue and collar, a supple textile insole for constant comfort, and a two-tone EVA midsole for cushioned, springy support. The jagged rubber outsole delivers great traction.
